At the apex of potential urban expansion, the Friars Hill estate/development is a necessary inclusion in Antigua and Barbuda commercial dialogue. The proposed project seeks to offer a unique product - both oriented for business and leisure – a sustainable concept in thought and design.
Chosen as a theme and design genesis, the “Hummingbird” a national fauna was chosen considering the historic, well-loved, natural, colourful, efficient, and beautiful attributes.
Specifically for the designers the structure of such an efficient creature became the main theme for the “parti” used to generate the bases of design for the state-of-the-art WIOC Business Center. The design authors interpreted and integrated the natural essence, environment, and kaleidoscope of the Hummingbird into their scope.
Similar to its environment, the WIOC’s Hummingbird mall presents a fusion of green spaces, natural forming curved elements in a first of its kind park-like atmosphere (shaded and unshaded) surrounded by art, colour and light.
